The Isle of Wight Christmas Tree Festival - 1st December - 4th January
A great day out for all the family! Come and enjoy the Christmas Tree Festival at the Isle of Wight Pearl along the Military Road, Brighstone.
Shanklin Theatre Architectural Lighting
Some of you may have already seen the new lighting system to the front of Shanklin Theatre. The two old fashioned sodium lighting units that were sited on the lower front roof over the theatre’s foyer were in a poor condition and needed replacing.
FOST Grand Prize Draw Winners for November
The November Grand Prize Draw took place in the Theatre bar on Saturday the 5th. Our guests on the morning were the Friends of Ryde Town Hall (FORTH).
Afternoon Tea at the Theatre with Vectis 40’s Vintage Club
10 members of the Vectis 40’s Vintage club came for an afternoon tea at Shanklin Theatre on Monday the 3rd of October. The event was organised by Theatre volunteer Viv Howell following the donation received from the club back in 2021.
Isle of Wight Walking Festival 2022
The Isle of Wight Autumn Walking Festival drew to a close on the 16th October. The organisers – Visit Isle of Wight Ltd are hailing the event a success, and have now released the dates for the Spring (13th-21st May) and Autumn (7th-15th October) Walking Festivals in 2023.
Shanklin Theatre Book Of Condolence
We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen and extend our heartfelt condolences to members of the Royal Family at this time. In agreement with the Theatre management, there is now a Book of Condolence available within the theatre located in the Box Office.
Shanklin In Bloom
As Chairman of the Friends of Shanklin Theatre, I was absolutely proud and delighted to be present at the 'Shanklin in Bloom Awards 2022' presentation at the Shanklin Royal British Legion club this evening.
September Prize Draw Winners
The September Grand Prize Draw took place in the Theatre bar on Saturday 3rd. Our guests on the morning were Bobby, Claire and Simon from the Ventnor Theatre Group.
Shanklin Main Carnival
Thank you very much to our dedicated group of 18 Volunteers who got involved with and supported the 2022 Shanklin Main Carnival. As you can see, they all looked rather dapper in their Theatre and bathing suit costumes. The hand embroidered ‘Wish You Were Here at Shanklin Theatre’ banner made by Liz Hinkes looked superb being ceremonially carried and led by Eddy Parsons and Lionel Whitehead.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GARDENING TEAM!
Our enthusiastic Volunteer gardening team led by Alex Goodwin have been crowned winners of their category in this year’s Shanklin in Bloom competition. Judging for the competition took place on July 4th, with the winners announced in all seven categories.
Grand Prize Draw
Our big thanks to Will Myles - the MD of Visit Isle of Wight Ltd who conducted our Grand Prize Draw during the Coffee, Cake and Chat morning on Saturday 2nd July. Prize draw tickets are £1 each and available to purchase during evening shows in the auditorium, at the Box Office when open, at the monthly Coffee Cake and Chat and at some external events attended by FOST.
